There are two alignments that stand out in 2012. One involves the planet Venus, the planet Earth, and the Sun. It's the second phase of the Venus Transit and last only a few and is visible.
 
The other cosmic alignment of 2012 is more mysterious and plays out on a much bigger peace of universal real estate. It has come to be known as a galactic alignment. It involves the core of the Milky Way galaxy, the sun, and the earth.
 
Calling this alignment a 2012 cosmic alignment is a title that is argued about along with much of what is written about in regards to this cosmic event.

A NASA spokesman, E.C Krupp, in 2009 released an article to explain the position of the
Space Administrators in regards to a potential threat to earth civilization when concerned with a galactic alignment.....The Great 2012 Doomsday Scare says there is No Secret NASA conspiracy covering up great cosmic events in that year.
 
Krupp mentions John Major Jenkins in his FAQ response. He also notes Jose Arguelles, and Dennis and Terence McKenna.
 
 
 
 
 If one were to ask John Major Jenkins the question " What is the Galactic Alignment ? ".
Then this would likely  be the answer given.
The Galactic Alignment is the Alignment of the December Solstice sun with the Galatic equator. This alignment occurs as a result of the precession of the equinoxes.
 
Precession is caused by the earth wobbling very slowly.......

The dark rift is the galactic plane and this video claims that the Mayan new of the cyclic influence of this cosmic event. The narrator here claims that both scientists and non scientists alike agree that this event is upon us. I guess he didn't talk to Krupp!!!
 
This is exactly the type of speculation that Krupp refutes.
 
Here we are told that pole shifts, increased solar activity, and all types of world wide devastating events that happen when the earth passes through the galactic plane and feels the effects of the black hole at the core of the milky way.
 
Emmerich ran to the bank with this end of time hypothetical scenario in his 2012 movie.
 
The narrator here says, so far humanity has ignored the information given here. Krupp says, ignore these warnings they are bogus scare tactics by people who sell mythology as truths.
